LifeLink - The Premier NO MONTHLY FEE Emergency Medical Alert System Available on the Market Today.

Benefits of the Spare Medical Alert Pendant

Throughout the history of the LifeLink no monthly fee emergency home medical alert system, feedback from our customers has shown that medical pendants are sometimes lost, or more often, simply misplaced for a short time.

Our suggestion - have a spare medical pendant on hand.  Having one or more spare pendants ready for use ensures no interruption in service of the LifeLink system.  In a case where a spare is needed, users can just bring out the spare device and place it around their neck; it's ready to go.  When the primary pendant shows up again, the spare device is simply placed back where it belongs - on the shelf, ready for use again as a spare at some point in the future.

Additionally, many of our customers have actually found that strategically deploying several medical alert pendants throughout the house is the best way to go - adding an additional layer of a safeguard that covers any one of a number of situations - a lost or misplaced pendant, battery issues, forgetting to wear the pendant, even for those who simply can't or don't wish to actually wear the pendant on their body. We call this "Pendant Placement". With Pendant Placement, users simply place the devices on the floor in an out-of-the-way area of a particular room. A common area is behind a table leg or in a corner.  See the diagram below for an example. The red square box shown in the "Hallway" represents the placement of the actual LifeLink Home Medical Console.  Each of the red dots/squares represents an individual pendant deployed throughout the house on the first floor.  To facilitate this and to make it cost-effective, we offer the"Econo-Pack of Spare Pendants.  The Econo-Pack comes with five (5) pendant devices in a single pack.

For those that are bothered or self-conscious about wearing something around their neck, or even for those who are concerned that utilizing the LifeLink system will change their routine too much, employing a 5-pack of pendants and strategically placing each around the house is an ideal compromise. The owner still receives the protection of the LifeLink emergency medical alert system, but they don't have to be concerned about changing their daily living situation. They needn't even be concerned about the pendants or the system itself on a daily basis (though they should be tested periodically). Then, in an emergency, the user can crawl their way to the nearest pendant and press the Emergency button to call for assistance.

Other customers place a spare medical pendant on the nightstand. This is done because feedback has shown that, at times, during a change of clothes, some users may tend to forget to put their medical alert pendant back around their neck.  Having the pendant available on the nightstand will ensure that you still have access to the medical alert system, even in this situation.

We encourage each of our customers to seriously consider securing at least one spare pendant for the monitoring device for the reasons noted within this page.

The Econo-Pack is the ultimate home alert solution because, not only is it the most economical solution, but also, by securing that number of spare pendant devices, you have versatility in how you plan your coverage.  Either way, a spare medical device pendant is certainly recommended.

One of the questions sometimes asked by our elderly customers or potential customers is, “Why don’t you offer a wrist pendant”?  The answer is that we used to do so.  Unfortunately, we had a few situations in which the user wore the pendant monitoring device on the wrist and had taken a fall, but were unable to press the panic button due to the fact that they couldn’t move one side of their body - a common situation under a stroke condition.  So, a user wearing the pendant on their left side and experiencing a stroke that affected their right side would possibly be unable to press the alert button.  The solution agreed-upon was to offer just the pendant-style panic button. This way, in case of a stroke, the medical pendant would be reachable from either side of the
victim’s body.
